Frank and Stella wait at a regional mining airport for a plane and its crew that are seemingly never going to arrive. Alone in the terminal, with bugger all to do, they consider the choices they made to end up where they have.

Stella is in a hurry. Frank is not. She’s a public relations veteran for big iron ore with places to be. He’s a reticent working man unbothered by the delay. She thinks they might have met. He’s certain they haven’t. As they sit and wait, it becomes apparent that Stella and Frank are a little more similar than either of them would like to believe.

'In Paraburdoo' is a new play by Australian playwright Jack Kearney that examines personal agency, regret and the passage of time through the lens of two ostensibly opposing characters.

The play is Kearney's follow up to 'Unperturbed' which played a sold out season at the 2023 Sydney Fringe Festival and was nominated for Best in Theatre.
